Relax it and don’t …
Relax it and don’t sing from the neck. Shoot for your mask (nose, eye region of the face) when you let the sound out, you should feel a ring.

Hi, So I love to sing (at home) and I’ve always wanted to learn how to, technique I suppose. The problem is I don’t like how my voice sounds. I did the chin exercise, nothing moves, just vibrates…. anyway to make your voice sound better?

you’ve missed the …
you’ve missed the point. the terminology and duration of note, have nothing to do with the purpose of this exercise; which to test for laryngal elevation. its about keeping the muscles for hindering your singing but mainly to keep your chords free and unrestricted so you can access your mixed and head registers.
so don’t get caught up on arpeggio vs. a scale. or whether the note is stacatto or held for longer durations.

Great catch. You …
Great catch. You are absolutely correct! Thanks for watching and your input. I never saw the edits before they were posted by the company that interviewed me so I’m sure there are a lot of glitches. Never thought they’d get the attention that they’re getting but I’m happy that people are watching and, right or wrong, that people are commenting. It keeps the singing community talking and improving. Again, thanks for your comments.

i see the point, …
i see the point, but you never talked about the point of the exercise which is to test and see if your throat muscles are pushing your larynx up, that will cause hoarsness

Again : ARPEGGIO!!! …
Again : ARPEGGIO!!! not scale!!
And this is terrible!!
Please tell me you do notice how bad you take the octave. This is wrong wrong wrong…wuffy.
The fact that you even are doing staccatto to “sing” the notes makes even more pathetic that you have to make a portamento to reach it.
I dare you to give me the logic explanation of why you couldnt reach the octave proberly here (here or anyplace, because this shown here is not good singing)
